We headed out to New Jersey for the weekend to visit our friends the Pizza Family.  Henceforth I shall refer to them as The Farmers, as they have the most amazing front yard garden that we all helped work on this weekend.  My kids dug in the dirt, helped fill the raised beds and plant seeds.  The Farmers organized their seeds, showed the kids how to plant, etc.  I was very helpful myself.  I sat on their front stoop with a Diet Coke and “supervised” the operation.  Very important job.  Couldn’t have done it without me :-)

A shout out to them, some of the most wonderful friends we have.  Not only are they amazing, kind and menschlich people, they hosted me and 2 of my kids so that I could be in the presence of Cantorial greatness, in the form of a spectacular concert courtesy of the Farmer’s temple and the cantors affiliated with them.  “The Four Cantors: Bima to Broadway” was a blast.  From traditional hazzanut and liturgy to Phantom of the Opera, it was a wonderful evening!  So worth the 450 miles I drove to hear it.  And so fun to hang with the Farmer children who we love very much!  Mr. Farmer is a fantastic cook and we had delicious homemade mac & cheese and home-baked challah, got some great sewing project ideas from Mrs. Farmer.  All in all a fantastic weekend.
